Went to see the Midwife again today and it looks like I am only at 2cm dilated and still 80% effaced. Was hoping for more than that but I havent had any obvious contractions so that makes sense. We did decide to schedule a date for stripping the membranes and induction if that doesn't work.
Mon Aug. 26th - check up and strip membranes
Wed Aug. 28th - Induce labor
As much as I want to avoid intervention it is so nice to have a schedule.
I think ill give some of the other crazier things a try this weekend. Like the Castor Oil... (bleh)
Baby Names:
Still nothing for sure but Logan and Oliver seem to be at the top of the list right now. That could change tomorrow though. Hopefully when we see him we will know.

Just playing the waiting game...
We are 2 days away from 39 weeks of being pregnant. I get to see the Midwife again tomorrow and find out if any more dilation/effacement progress is happening.
People talk about having Braxton Hicks contractions and how they are prepping your body for the real deal. Not sure if I have had any. Theres been a couple times where my belly gets tight but usually theres a little foot poking my side at the same time, so it seems more like hes just in there stretching. Anywho, hopefully I have been having sneaky contractions, I guess I will find out tomorrow.
Have been taking a bunch of natural remedies to help induce labor. Who knows if they are helping/speeding things along or not.
Started 1 week ago with the following craziness:
1 - Daily Prenatal - 1 in am
2 - Evening Primrose Oil - 2 in am and pm
3 - Birth Prep (Squaw Vine Herb, Blessed Thistle Herb, Black Cohosh Root, Pennyroyal Herb, False Unicorn Root, Red Raspberry Leaf, and Lobelia Herb) - 4 in am and pm
4 - Caullophyllum Homeopathic - 4 in am and pm
5 - Red raspberry tea - 1 cup in pm
6 - Walking - should be everyday but I manage about every other day
In general still feeling pretty good. My complaints are nothing compared to what some women go through. Hips are always sore and my joints feel like they are super weak and loose. I guess thats my bodies way to prepare for them to split in two. Yea, I think.... Lots of pinched nerves in the hips too. Bending down to pick things off the ground is really pathetic looking and me getting up off the ground is even more comical. Still getting acid reflux almost every night and living on the tums. Up to go to the bathroom about 4 times per night. Napping every chance I get. Even a few times accidentally at work. Opps, not caught yet.
I think the baby room is done enough for baby to come home but not the super cute room I imagined. It all takes money, so for now we have the necessities.
Hospital bag is pretty much packed. I have a list of a few names that could work, but still none that super stick out as "the perfect name". I am hoping that once we meet our little guy we will be able to tell.
Had my first little protective mommy moment. There is a new crazy lady that moved into my ward and she seemed nice at first and was asking me general questions about names and gender and due date, etc. Then she blurted out "when you have him, can I hold him?" It didnt seem that odd and I said sure, why not. Then the more she talked during the class the weirder and weirder she seemed. Now once I have him ill have to check to see if shes in the class first and if she is I'll dodge out to another class and just avoid her. I don't want a crazy lady around my baby! Nate got the same odd vibe from her too. Hmmm....
Well I'll keep you posted on if there is any progress made in the nether regions.

Progress is being made! 37 weeks
So the last few days it has felt like the baby has moved downward. It seemed like my belly was sitting on my lap and walking has turned into more of a waddle. I can feel the top of the baby (his bottom) just above my belly button whereas before he was crammed up into my ribs. I was hoping and guessing that all this meant he was making his way downward and getting ready for birth.
Today I saw the Midwife and yes indeed he is making progress. I am 80% effaced and 1.5cm dilated, with a pretty soft cervix. I can't help but be excited about the progress even though people say I could stay at this point and still not deliver till well after the due date. My body is getting prepared and that's good enough for me!
Had my baby shower last week and got lots of super cute outfits and other things for the little guy. It was super fun and I can't thank them enough for putting it on for me. They went in on a group gift and got a jogger stroller!! That makes me so happy! Cause I will only have a few months to loose the baby weight before winter comes and all hope of outside exercise is lost. Over the weekend I got the carseat to match the stroller. I was going to try and get one used off of ksl but once I went through all the coupons they send you in the mail, I realized I could get it brand new for about the cost of a used one. It was originally $150 and I walked out of BabiesRUs with it for $80! Yea score! Still need lots of baby things but I guess newborns really dont need much so as long as I have the carseat, crib, some clothes, and a pack of diapers and wipes I should be good to go.
Cant wait for this little dude to get here! Although I better get busy, cause I still have lots of preparation to do. Now it is starting to become a reality, could be any day now or it could be a few weeks. Either way I better get ready!

33 Weeks
Things are progressing well and still feeling pretty good. Only 7 more weeks to go! Had a Prenatal Apt today and the thing I look forward to the most is finding out what position the baby is in. I am always trying to guess if the pokes and bulges are feet or hands or what. So the last couple weeks little dude-no-name has been bulging the the left side of my belly button and pointy pokes to the far right side and up under my ribs. I kept thinking they were feet in my ribs but wasnt sure. Turns out I was right! He is facing head down with his left side towards my back and legs fully extended into my side.
Found a picture of it and it seems to be spot on:
The 4th of July celebrations were awesome with all the family around and I kept expecting the lil guy to jump and the fireworks but he's a brave little one and with some of the louder one it would seem to wake him up and he would slowly wiggle around but no big startled jumps. Except for one big one that went off too low and close and we both jumped. Not sure if his jump made me jump or my jump made him jump but either way it was kinda funny.
When a firework fell over or went the wrong direction it was kind cute to see Nate jump in between me and the fireworks and act as a human shield. His protective instinct are already starting to kick in and I love it.
It has been in the high 90's to 100 lately and I have been toasty hot but everyone is sweaty hot. I may be a little warmer than I would be not pregnant but not too bad.
I have started feeling big and uncomfortable though. Cant stay in one position very long before my back starts aching or my lower tummy muscles get tired.
Even sleeping its getting harder to get comfy. Little dude will wiggle and jab until I find a position thats comfy for him and then I can sleep.
Ive also been getting acid reflux/heartburn at night and thats no fun. Overall though were doing pretty great.
Still need to do my baby registry but picking things out is so hard. Tons of options and it is hard to know whats best.
Have finally started reading more about Hypnobirthing and how to prepare for delivery. The whole pregnancy and delivery process still blows my mind!

Into the 3rd Trimester Now
Time is flying by. Apparently my shirts are creeping up in the front too much because Nate has accused me of having plumbers front. haha, so ive had to do lots of shopping to try and get me by. Im actually surprised im this big already. Im 5'8" with a super long torso and expected to have a smaller bump than a more petite person. Hmm, oh well.
Still feeling pretty good. The tiredness is creeping back in. Have fell asleep at my desk 3 times in the last week. Still haven't gotten caught luckily, but if I do it will be super embarrassing.
It's so hard not being able to pick up things that are a little heavy or big. I have to rely on other people and thats lame. Or I have found it is amazing what you can still move without actually lifting it. I may take twice as long to move something but hey I get it done on my own. Ha!
Still having lots of belly kicks and wiggles. Its the weirdest thing to see a little buldge from his hand or foot or whatever it is, and when I poke at it he will either punch back or pull away. I'll have to film it sometime. Super crazy alien-like.
Belly button is still steadily popping out and with some shirts it just looks ridiculous. So I have put tape on the inside of my shirt to act as a barrier and it helps a little.

22 Weeks Prego
Now I really look pregnant. This day I look particularly big for some reason. It seems that one day I can look huge and the next day im smaller. Crazy. So people seem to have skipped asking if I am pregnant and went straight to "oh hey youre pregnant" Which is fine, just means it has become obvious now. Still feeling good. Bending over to tie my shoes is getting trickier and the worst part is im loosing my bellybutton. Its already going outie. I still miss being able to ride my horse but riding a greenbroke 3yr old while pregnant is just asking to get bucked off and do damage to the baby. Not worth the risk.
Bought my first pair of maternity jeans. It was weird going into the maternity store but the pants are a life saver and so comfy! For my birthday I got a few more maternity things which have been awesome. I guess its better to get them a little earlier so I can use them longer.
20 week Ultrasound
I brought in a DVD and they recorded most of the ultrasound. I couldn't
help but spice it up a bit and add music and text to explain what you're
seeing.
Wow time flies by fast, were already half way! Got to get my 20 week ultrasound check up and it was incredible. That is one on the most amazing things Ive ever done. I wish I could just watch him move around like that all of the time. So they said he looks healthy and normal in everything they tested. He measured 5 days smaller my expected due date but that it isnt enough to change the date and he could easily catch up. If I have a small baby that is fine by me.
